Night of the Felis
I was cleaning under the Internet this morning—Hey, I found 50 cents and a sock!—when I saw this…
Intrigued, I clicked the link. Seems this cat, after being kicked around, got a little bent out of shape.

Some of NASA’s new photos from space…
This scene is to the northwest of the recently named crater Magritte, in Mercury’s south. The image is not map projected; the larger crater actually sits to the north of the two smaller ones. The shadowing helps define the striking “Mickey Mouse” resemblance, created by the accumulation of craters over Mercury’s long geologic history.
William Clay Ford, R.I.P.
William C. Ford, grandson of Henry, father of Bill Jr., former CEO of Ford Motor Company and long-time owner of the Detroit Lions passed away at home in Grosse Pointe Shores at 89 years of age.
The biggest thing that I have always bragged on Mr. Ford about is that he treated everyone the same. It didn’t matter if you where another hugely successful person in the auto industry or if you were driving him somewhere or working in his yard or doing anything for him, waiting on him at a restaurant. He treated everybody the same. He was as humble as you could possibly be for a man as successful as he was.
~former Lions defensive lineman Doug English
Bon Voyage Mr. Ford!

Spiritual Selfie
Here we are at the first Friday of Lent, and the conversation around the holy water font is usually something like this:

“Cookies and pastry, you?”
“Bowling. Although this year, my league’s raising it’s fees, so I might actually save some money!”
“You don’t say? Well, I’ve been trying to lose some weight anyway so win-win eh? See you at the fish-fry!”
Does anyone see something wrong here?

Happy Birthday Chicago!
Incorporated on March 4, 1837, Chicago is just a kid compared to Detroit. Still, making it to 177 years old is pretty good.
Here’s the late, great Freddie King!
A Pre-Lenten Reflection
For us in the West, Ash Wednesday (this Wednesday as a matter of fact) begins the season of Lent. But today, I’d like to share with you a lovely reflection from one of our brothers in the East. Dear old, crotchety, Fr. Tom Hopko…I love this guy:
It’s ~16 minutes long. Take part of your lunch hour and listen.
